In this tutorial I show how to successfully get started with HiCAD. I explain the basics, how to create a sketch, which settings are available and where to find the different tools and functions. The goal is to provide a smooth entry and a better understanding of the basic operations in HiCAD.
You can see in the video how you can work with the Parametric (HCM) deals with the easiest way to work from my point of view. However, it is always difficult to say what is best for you, so these are simply experiences that are easiest for me.
It is also explained how to use the advanced Point options arbeiten kann, welche man mit der ENTER – Taste erreicht und wie man diese untereinander Verschachteln kann
In this video I explain how to create a recess in HiCAD. I will go over the different options available and explain their effects. Then I show how to easily adjust and further edit this recess.
IIIn the next step, I explain how to round individual edges in HiCAD and how these roundings can be edited using the corresponding features. Furthermore, I show how to perform the selection for rounding surfaces.
In the last part of the video I show how to insert the created part into a layout, how to generate multiple views from it and how to create section views. Especially important is how to place these section views in the right place.
Here I explain in the video the most important commands which are needed for copying and moving parts in HiCAD. These are by default in the Ribbon 3D Standard
The commands can also be found for all parts and assemblies, regardless of whether they are single or multiple selections in the pull-down menu.
I also explain what the dialog of the number means when transforming when copying parts.
In this video I explain how to use the standard parts library in HiCAD, in particular how to install bolts, shims, nuts, rivets and brackets from different manufacturers.
In this video I also explain how to create a bolted joint in HiCAD and use the various editing options. I also show how to adjust the dimensions.
And also not to forget how to change them again in the respective situations.
In diesem Video erkläre ich den Befehl ‘Punkte verschieben im Rechteck’, den man im Allgemeinen eher als ‘Strecken’ bezeichnen könnte, was vielen Anwendern verständlicher ist.
There are several variations on how to apply this command, and it is important to recalculate after adjusting the stretched part to make sure everything is working correctly.
With the Weld Generation, manual welds can be made between 2 parts. These can be subsequently evaluated in parts lists or on the drawing.
Of course, many more details about the weld can be defined under the settings. These can then be saved as favorites and reused. This allows you to define many different favorites very easily and very quickly.
In this video, I explain the Repeat Machining command. This feature allows you to quickly and easily repeat various operations such as holes, recesses, and more to easily create complex patterns.
You can also use it to parameterize very complex parts very quickly.
With this command you can select individual points in the construction and move them. This function can be used very nicely to model a balcony slab.
In contrast to the other move functions, only a single point is moved here and not a complete region as usual.
With The Cleaner, you can prepare penetrations in profiles or sheets for the flatbed laser or tube laser in a way that is suitable for production.
The function is structured so that you first select the part to be edited and then call the function. As a tip, which is not mentioned in the video, you can very easily repeat the processing here with the command F12 and thus also very quickly edit a lot of parts.
This function has been completely revised in HiCAD 2022 SP1 and thus offers new possibilities. There will be a new video about this afterwards. However, I will still leave the old video on the page for a while, since not all users are working on version 2022 SP2 yet. Here is a foretaste of the new dialog.
The edge pull is important for parts that do not follow a straight line, so you can create a stringer and the handrail for a spiral staircase as an example.
