HiCAD 2019 SP1 - Individual railing infills
Railing components like
- Post,
- Handrails,
- flat fillings,
- Transitional fillings,
- Corner fillings or
- the post-handrail connection
can also be saved as customer-specific variants. These variants are then available in the railing configurator and thus enable railings to be designed individually.
The creation of such variants consists of the following steps:
- Construction of the desired railing component
- Parameterization of the railing component by assigning ISD variables (must) and free variables (optional) and - if necessary - assigning HCM conditions
- Definition of the installation coordinate system and
- Save the variant with the editor for railing variants in the docking window Construction functions under Steel construction> stairs + railings> railings is available.

HiCAD 2019 | SP1: Connection to sheet metal for cross bracing
The design variant for the cross bracing (2602) has been expanded. So far, the connection brought the gusset plates for the connection. From now on it is also possible to use already existing plates on the profile as gusset plates. This can be useful, for example, if you want to install two cross braces between 2 profiles and the second cross brace is to be attached to the gusset plates of the first cross brace. Another new feature is the possibility of installing a cross bracing between sheets (without a profile). In addition, additional options are available for square gusset plates that influence the position of the connecting plate to the gusset plate.

Railing components such as posts, handrails, level fillings, transition fillings, corner fillings or the connection between post and handrail can also be saved as customer-specific variants with the new editor for railing variants. These variants are then available in the railing configurator and thus enable railings to be designed individually.
HiCAD 2019 | SP1: Extension of the textures
The Change Texture function now also supports multiple selection of parts. The visibility of textures can now be switched on / off. Deactivating the visibility can be useful to make the processing of large constructions with many textures more efficient.
HiCAD 2019 | SP1: sheet metal
With the new Z-fold, you can fold two tabs on a sheet in one step. As soon as your entries are sufficient, a preview of the new tabs will be displayed. The Z-fold can be changed using the associated feature protocol. Bending simulation in the section or detail view. In addition, you can now identify the edge for the base plate in the bending simulation in the section or detail view. The bending simulation is then carried out in the original view.
