Convert
The conversion is required to successfully import an E57 file into HiCAD. Note, however, that this step is not necessary if you already have an "lsproj" file. The latter can be imported directly into HiCAD. To do this, simply go to the "Point cloud" ribbon and start the corresponding command.
After you have executed the command, a dialog opens in which you can select the desired E57 file. Afterwards you have the possibility to perform the conversion.
An important information here is that you can let the conversion run in the background while you continue working in HiCAD as usual. As soon as the conversion is complete, the *.lsproj file is automatically saved in the point cloud directory of HiCAD and is then available for further use.
Inserting a point cloud
It is important to note that only point clouds in lsproj format can be inserted directly into HiCAD. If your point clouds are in E57 format, they must first be converted to lsproj format before you can use them in HiCAD.
Point clouds settings
In the settings you have the possibility to adjust the size of the points.
Clipping Box
The Clipping Box allows you to selectively change the size of the point cloud in order to edit specific areas more precisely. This allows you to narrow down the workspace and orient yourself more easily in the point cloud.
Layer on point cloud
Working with layers in a point cloud is of great importance. The following command is available for this purpose.
Using this command opens a dialog that allows you to select any number of points from the point cloud and then define them with various options.
